TGIM – Thank God It’s Monday

business - 1 year ago - Kelowna Lund

How many of us choose to say that on a regular basis, week after week…

I had a wonderful weekend with a child I borrowed from my girlfriend.  I’d been promising her for a very long time that we’d spend a weekend riding horses.

This past weekend we did just that.  Sterling arrived Thursday night with her mother, one of my closest friends, and we had a wonderful supper and visit.  After settling Sterling into her room, we talked about plans for the weekend and introduced her to our various animals around the ranch before bedtime.

Friday we had our first lesson in horsemanship and balance aboard Big Buck the Wonderhorse, a 29 year old gelding that is worth his weight in gold for the time he has been so reliable taking care of future cowgirls.  We went for two long rides on Friday, another on Sat. and even another Sunday morning.   Between all the riding, we helped a neighbour wash her horses and band manes for the show on Sunday at the fall fair and spent time at the fair ourselves.  It was an eventful weekend.  I dropped off a very tired girl on Sunday.

I woke up this morning thinking TGIM.  I am at home.  I can see the horses out the window.  I am thinking about what we’ll do the next time Sterling comes to the ranch if she wants to continue her equine experiences and my business has pretty much been on reliable auto-pilot the whole time.

I also received a phone call yesterday from my brother to tell me that I have another nephew.  Congrats. to Dana and Shan!  Welcome to Alex!

I do not have to worry about booking time off to go and see them.  As soon as Shan. is back home,  I’ll be packing up my laptop and phone and I’m gone to see what help I can give her and to meet little Alex.  My business will come with me and easily be managed from where I choose to be whether it’s Monday, Friday or any day in between.

Why Choose Network Marketing?

business - 1 year ago - Kelowna Lund

Of all the things a person could do for a living, why would they want to begin network marketing?  My top five reasons:

1.  It comes naturally to all of us anyways.  Tell a friend that you tried and love a new restaurant, you are network marketing.  Tell your sister that your fab. daycare is taking on new kids, same thing.  You are also network marketing.  You are just doing it for free.  I believe networking is as natural to all of us as breathing.

2.  There is nobody telling you where to be and when to be there.  I work out of my home.  My life and my time is mine.  Nowadays with so much happening on the internet, there are no “hours” and I can work “dayshift”, “nightshift” or “graveyards” as I choose.  With the internet, I can from anywhere in the world too.  Weekend in Vegas?  Book the tickets.  I don’t have to ask for time off.

3.  When you find the right community to become a member of, the mentorship, friendships and fellowship is a huge, daily, positive energy.  I am thankful everyday for all the people I’ve met that reinforce every day that I can do anything I want.

4.  There is no way that I can think of where you can help empower other people to change their own lives, thinking and beliefs as you can when maintaining and building your team within a community of likeminded people.  It is so cool to watch people setting goals and reaching them.

5.  The income.  This is the platform where any level of income can be made  for very small start up costs.  Want to choose your own wage?  This would be the place you can do that.  Wouldn’t it be nice to decide for yourself what your time is worth?

My decision to begin working for myself was based on time and freedom.  It was a little scarey at first to ignore the advice of everyone telling me I was crazy to leave a secure job.   Isn’t it funny that every Monday, like today, I get up loving what I do and looking forward to the day and the week ahead? It seems like not that long ago that I felt quite differently about Mondays.      -Kelowna Lund

Today is the Best Day of my Life

business - 1 year ago - Kelowna Lund

Today I was asked what I want.

What do I really, really, really want.  It was a  tough question to answer.

After cutting through the  things that we all think of right away when asked something like this…The log house on the hill… A life of unlimited abundance…To make a difference…Quit my job…Success and security for the kids…more time…foreign vacations… what did I discover?

I discovered what gets my butt out of bed every morning and what keeps me going and what is going to continue to keep me going is my desire to have my household  (that’s Pierre, Dad and me now, the kids are all moved out) up having a relaxed coffee in the morning and discussing what is going on in each of our worlds for the day.  I want to start every day like this for the rest of my life.  I want to start the day in this appreciative, “right now” frame of mind every single day for the rest of my life.

Not rushing off to jobs and being half distracted if we were running five minutes behind the time we knew we must leave by. (Oh yeah we did..running, coffee-slopping, byekiss all one word..gogogo…) Not having to postpone this discussion until evening, when we were too tired to appreciate it or too worried about the deadlines and demands from the outside to take the time at all…or… I was working nights again and we were communicating with notes on the table, cautious not to wake each other up the only times we saw each other…all in the name of being successful.

Thankyou to John who asked me this profound question.  Thankyou to Vishal for inviting John and Thankyou to Preston who helped start the chain of events that led to today.  It truly is the best day of my life.
